Joan’s held executive management roles across sales, marketing, consulting and operations. Her career has spanned national and regional responsibilities with positions covering Australia and Asia.
Joan knows the power of Change Management, Business Process Re-Engineering, Sales and Marketing strategies but says her approach better aligns all of these disciplines with executive goals.

Biography:
In 2000 Joan established a consulting practice, Macrison, where she is Managing Director. The organisation focuses on providing customer profitability in Sales and Marketing Services by taking a fresh approach to helping organisations improve customer retention and growth.
In 1996 Joan joined American Express as the Regional Director, Strategic Merchant Acquiring, ANZ and South Pacific, responsible for the $9bn business. Joan managed all facets of the Credit Card and Merchant Services, handling both the commercial and operational roles, meeting business requirements and delivering aggressive revenue growth in merchant acquisition throughout the region.
Prior to American Express, Joan spent 15 years at Telstra in various roles encompassing sales and operations and marketing. Her last role before leaving Telstra was Director Strategic Alliances where she was instrumental in strategy development for the deregulation of the telecommunications industry.
Joan’s competitive streak surfaces almost everywhere including on the water. She’s a former Australian Champion and Australian Representative in sailing and proudly adopts the Australian ethos of ‘having a go’ by travelling extensively; even taking flying lessons!
Joan’s second “office” is the wide fairways of a golf course. Formerly a Governor on the Board of the NSW Golf Foundation she continues to have an active role in the development of the sport. In her role as Governor on the NSW Golf Foundation Joan provided expertise in revenue raising and funds distribution, marketing and public relations.
